Information Systems Management BSB

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Degrees and Programs (Graduate and Undergraduate)

The Information Systems Management BSB is designed for the student seeking an entry-level position in the fast growing computer industry.  It provides the technical knowledge and skills needed to be successful, as well as the business concepts to prepare you for a career in information management.  The program curriculum is in compliance with the latest Association for Computing Machines (ACM) Curriculum guidelines and matches an undergraduate information systems degree in a typical AACSB-accredited North American Business school. The degree can be completed as a stand-alone degree or as a 2+2 program with the Associate of Applied Business degree in Information Technology Management.  See your advisor for more information.

Employers look favorably upon potential employees with backgrounds in both technology and business.  This degree provides students with a solid core of business knowledge with technology skills in the area(s) they wish to pursue.  It is absolutely essential that the student must be able to view information systems from the perspective of business and organizational needs.

Graduating students may enter employment as web developers, network technicians, operators, computer programmers, or microcomputer specialists in computer installations, to name a few of the possibilities.  IS background in business provides students with the opportunity to pursue both technical and managerial careers in organizations that incorporate leading edge technologies.  A firm background in business as well as IS provides those students interested in starting their own businesses the knowledge and tools necessary to be successful in the endeavor.
