This certificate will provide a strong foundation in programmable logic and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to appeal to a broad range of potential students; including non-traditional students currently working in the industry who lack a background or formal education in circuits. Programmable Logic Controllers are critical for controlling the automated industrial processes.

The Fundamentals of Electrical Circuits certificate is recommended before taking this certificate if there isn’t background in electrical circuits or industrial maintenance/electricity. The certificate will be stackable along with the associate degree and will utilize existing courses.
