Psychology/Pre-Occupational Therapy BA

Psychology/Pre-Occupational Therapy provides the students a general psychology degree with a concentration in Pre-OT coursework. The concentration includes preparatory coursework in psychology, biology, and other required areas that prepares the student to make application to the Occupational Therapy master’s and doctoral graduate programs.

Volunteer Work

All applicants to Shawnee State University’s Master’s of Occupational Therapy program must complete a total of at least 40 hours of volunteer work supervised by an occupational therapist with an evaluation given by the supervisor.  Psychology majors may choose to combine this volunteer activity with their Psychology Capstone course, and pursue and internship (PSYC 4185) at a site employing occupational therapists.  Contact the psychology program internship director for additional information.
