Social Sciences BA
|
|
The Social Science BA provides students with understanding of all the Social Sciences, which includes (among others) History, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, Economics, Anthropology and Geography. Social Sciences help students to understand their place in the world and to connect their personal experience to history and the society they live in. Social Scientists work in a number of areas ranging from Government to Social Services. In addition, a degree in Social Sciences can provide preparation for students to pursue more specialized training in Law or specific Social Sciences at the graduate level.
A graduate in Social Science should be able to:
- Explain the similarity and differences in the different Social Sciences
- Apply a range of Social Science methods to understand past and present events
- Participate effectively as an informed citizen in public debates and discussions
