EDMC 4476 - Teaching Science Middle SchoolAn exploration of methods of teaching science to middle childhood students. Topics to be explored include planning inquiry lessons, understanding the nature of science and scientific inquiry and using technology in the classroom. Special emphasis will be given to safety in the science classroom and laboratory. All activities will be referred to in light of the NSTA and Ohio science standards.
Note: Candidates apply the knowledge and skills obtained from this course in a planned sequence of professional field experiences (63 hours) with young adolescents in a middle school setting under the supervision of qualified university and school-based faculty.
