BIOL 4270 - Plant Anatomy and PhysiologyThis course focuses on the observation (lab, greenhouse and outdoors) of morphologic features of all divisions of vascular plants, including microscopic anatomy of plant cells, simple and complex tissues and organs. Further, the course provides experience observing and experimenting with major physiologic activities of vascular plants, including metabolism, soil and water relations, mineral nutrition, transpiration, control of embryogenesis, germination, hormonal regulation of seedling and mature plant growth (vegetative and reproductive), plant defenses against herbivory and disease, and senescence.
