MATH 6600 - Quantitative Methods and Test TheoryCredits: 3 This course will introduce students to multivariate statistical methods in education research and to the principles of test theory. The first part of the class will focus on conducting, interpreting, and critiquing statistical procedures such as factorial ANOVA, MANOVA, ANCOVA, and MANCOVA. Students will also be introduced to principal component analysis (PCA). Approximately 30% of class time will be used for this part of the class. The second part of the class will focus on an introduction to measurement concepts and modern test theory. The focus will be primarily on Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory. A concentration will be on issues central to measurement such as reliability, validity, test construction, and equating. Prereq: Undergraduate Statistics 2 lecture hours 1 lab hours $
