This course is an entry-level overview of the pre-modern history of East Asia (China, Korea, and Japan). It provides a broad chronological survey with special attention to interrelationships of intellectual, cultural, political, social, artistic, technological, and economic changes in premodern East Asia up to 1600 C.E.
