EDEC 4491 - Guidance and Classroom Management in Early Childhood Education

This course is designed to assist preservice, student, and current teachers in developing effective classroom management skills in order to maximize student learning. Topics include: classroom organization, behavioral norms, instructional transition time, rules and behavioral intervention strategies, time management, various approaches to discipline planning, managing a diverse classroom, managing student work, addressing abuse and neglect, collegial collaboration, developmentally appropriate practice, and classroom management in relationship to professional standards.Prereq: EDEC 3385 or EDIS 3385. Admission in Level 3 Teacher Ed. $
