The Associate of Arts in General Studies is designed for students who are preparing to transfer into a bachelor degree program but are undecided about their longer-term career goals. It is also designed for students who are employed but are seeking a degree to improve their current job status. A major portion of the coursework is derived from Shawnee’s General Education requirements allowing for a more seamless transition to a baccalaureate-level program.

Choose general studies courses from the University curriculum at the 1000 level or above, with a minimum of 12 credit hours at the 2000 level or higher. (Limited to a max of 2 credits of physical education, 2 credits of service/internship, 9 credits of independent study or portfolio assessment. Courses with catalog numbers below 1000 do NOT count toward graduation totals).
