Clark Memorial Library

Clark Memorial Library serves all members of the Shawnee State University community. The library prides itself on being a student space by providing spaces for students to study or relax. The library offers study rooms, equipped with large screen monitors and whiteboards, for individual or group study. Desktop computers are available along with scanning and printing services and laptops can be checked out, along with headsets. The library and Student Government Association have worked together to provide a hybrid study space, available 24x7, known as the Bear Cave. The Bear Cave provides access to desktop computers, a printer and laptop charging stations, a valid student ID is required to enter the space. Classrooms and lecture halls are available in the library for university courses, library instruction, and events. For convenience, the Writing Center and Information Technology Services (ITS) are both located on the lower level of the library.

The library provides access to an array of print and electronic resources; including databases (https://shawneesu.libguides.com/az.php), electronic books and journals. Reference services are available both in -person and virtually – drop in or by appointment – librarians provide instruction sessions or reesearch consulations. Our goal is for students to learn a nuanced approach to working with information, and feel confident evaluating resources. In addition to developing traditional research skills, students learn about the reflective and responsible use and production of information. Clark Memorial Library helps student succeed in tomorrow’s world by supporting their academic endeavors.
