English/Humanities - Integrated Language Arts with Adolescent to Young Adult (Grades 7-12) Licensure BA


The Bachelor of Arts in English/Humanities, Integrated Language Arts with Adolescent to Young Adult Licensure (grades 7-12) combines education and English/Humanities classes to prepare language arts teachers for grades 7 through 12. At a time when a national teaching shortage has become apparent, this degree offers excellent opportunities for employment.

Learning Outcomes for the B.A. in English and Humanities (Integrated Language Arts with Adolescent to Young Adult Licensure)

Students who complete the English & Humanities Integrated Language Arts with Adolescent to Young Adult Licensure program will be able to:

  • situate texts within a historical and cultural context;
  • analyze texts through the lens of literary, cultural, rhetorical, and/or linguistic theory;
  • compose effective arguments supported by relevant evidence from primary and secondary sources;
  • make connections between content knowledge and teaching practice; and
  • apply methodology to solve problems and teach effectively.
