Mathematical Sciences Graduate Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Mathematical Sciences is primarily designed for students who have a prior master’s degree in a discipline other than mathematics or a related field, and want to complete 18 credit hours in graduate level mathematics or mathematical sciences courses to become qualified to teach College Credit Plus courses and/or college-level mathematics courses. The certificate recognized their accomplishment and could be presented to school administrators as evidence of completion of a cohesive set of graduate level courses in mathematical sciences, possibly beyond a master’s degree.

The courses will provide students a foundation in a range of areas: pure and applied mathematics, probability, statistics, and quantitative methods. Credit for the research sequence (MATH6996, MATH6997, AND MATH6998) cannot be used for completion of the certificate.

The program is open to students who want to demonstrate that they have completed rigorous coursework in graduate level mathematical sciences.

Certificate Requirements

Complete any set of courses within the Masters of Mathematics program that add up to, or exceeds, 18-credits except for MATH6996, MATH6997, and MATH6998.
