The Associate of Technical Study in Business Technology is part of the One Year Option articulation initiative for the state of Ohio.
Students who have completed an approved 900+ clock hour program with an approved credential will receive 30 hours of block credit to be used toward an ATS degree. The list of approved pathways can be found at https://www.ohiohighered.org/one-year-option/educators. Student who have completed 600-899 clock hours will receive proportional block credit from 20-27 hours. Technical content of 3-10 hours must be completed at Shawnee State University.
Those earning the Associate of Technical Studies in Business Technology can continue on to earn the BSB Industrial Management 2+2, allowing them to pursue a career at the management level of their chosen field, or start a company of their own.

One Year Option Technical Block Credit (20-30 Hours)
Students who complete an approved program of 900+ clock hours at an Ohio Technical Center as indicated by the Ohio Department of Higher Education (https://www.ohiohighered.org/one-year-option/educators) will receive a block of credit of 30 hours only applicable to the Associate of Technical Study in the approved pathway.
Students who complete an approved program of 600-899 clock hours at an Ohio Technical Center as indicated by the Ohio Department of Higher Education (https://www.ohiohighered.org/one-year-option/educators) will receive a block of credit of 20-27 hours only applicable to the Associate of Technical Study in the approved pathway. The remaining 3-10 hours would be supplemented by courses in the Department of Business (BUXX course prefixes) to complete an area of technical focus.
Business Requirement (15 Hours Minimum)
Electives should be selected with approval from a faculty advisor and in alignment with the student’s career goals.
