The English/Humanities degree with a concentration in Communication is an excellent option for you if you wish to pursue a career in journalism, corporate communication, publishing, public relations, editing, or media criticism. The degree requires 120 hours, including 32 hours in the communication core and 6 hours of electives.
Learning Outcomes for the B.A. in English and Humanities (Communication)
Students who complete the English & Humanities Communication concentration will be able to:
- situate texts within a historical and cultural context;
- analyze texts through the lens of literary, cultural, rhetorical, and/or linguistic theory;
- compose effective arguments supported by relevant evidence from primary and secondary sources; and
- demonstrate understanding of communication theories, perspectives, principles, and concepts.
