EDPE 4283 - Professional Practices

This course is designed for students in the process of preparing to teach young children in preschool to 5th grade settings with a particular focus on 4th and 5th grade. The course fosters the development of skills and techniques in curriculum and assessment for teaching with young children, prek-5. The course gives students a study of cognitive development of children in the areas of social studies, science, mathematics, language arts, music, and movement. It includes grades 4 and 5 practicum in the form of a weekly, 30-hour field component in a 4/5 setting
