PTAT 2235 - PT Trends and Admin Procedures

Credits: 2
The identification of administrative components including budgeting, cost-containment strategies and outcome measures will be studied.  Understanding of clinical research will be introduced to better equip students to be evidence-based practitioners.  The history and influence of health care systems will be discussed from a standpoint of government-funded programs, private insurance (HMO, MCO), and self-payment. Students will be given instruction and practice on the skills for resume writing and self-promotion. Students will be required to demonstrate competent and safe standards of documentation and data collection. Prereq: Admission to PTA program. Coreq: PTAT 2231, PTAT2241 lecture hours 2
