Mathematical Sciences - Integrated Mathematics with Adolescent to Young Adult (Grades 7-12) Licensure BS

This option within the bachelor of science in mathematical sciences program prepares you to be a teacher at the secondary level. Graduates have a broad background in the core of undergraduate mathematics and a firm foundation in professional education coursework, together with a strong general education component.

Students in this program are strongly encouraged to meet, on a regular basis, with an advisor from both the Department of Mathematical Sciences and the Department of Teacher Education.

Degree Requirements


General Education Program 28 Hours
 
  • PSYC 1101 meets the Human Behavior component of the GEP.
  • EDUC 1115 meets the Oral Communication component of the GEP.  
  • EDUC 2245 meets the Engaged Citizenry component of the GEP.
  • The Quantitative Reasoning component is also satisfied by the requirements of the degree.

First Year Experience: University Foundations (1 Hour)


This course is required for all freshman students enrolled Fall 2016 or later.  It is also listed in the GEP.
