Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Minor (15 credit hours)

This minor is a free-standing program within the Department of English and Humanities, although it also provides part of the coursework necessary for licensure within the state of Ohio in the area of TESOL. To complete the minor, 15 credit hours of coursework are required as listed below. For details regarding TESOL licensure within the state of Ohio, see the Department of Teacher Education .

Requirements
The following 6 credits are required:
Foreign Language (3 credit hours)
3 credit hours at the second-semester level or higher.
ESL/EFL Pedagogy (3 credit hours)
Linguistics (9 credit hours)
Select 9 credit hours from any of the following courses:

Please Note: up to 6 credit hours of TESOL core courses may be double-counted (i.e. they may be applied to both the TESOL minor, and to a major or another minor).
