ADNR 1114 - Introduction to NursingCredits: 3 This introductory nursing course provides a foundation for the socialization into the profession of nursing. The history and evolution of nursing, with an introduction to the health care system and exploration of the roles of nurses and other health care professionals, are discussed. Legal and ethical aspects of practice are presented with an emphasis on individual values clarification and philosophy. Health promotion across the lifespan is emphasized, including nursing concepts of math, informatics, and clinical reasoning. An overview of the associate degree nursing program’s organizational framework is offered as orientation. Prereq: Admission to ADN program. Coreq: ADNR 1183 lecture hours 3
