Clark Memorial Library proudly serves the entire Shawnee State University community, offering a welcoming environment designed with students in mind. Whether seeking a quiet place to study or a comfortable spot to relax, students will find a variety of spaces tailored to their needs. The library features study rooms equipped with large screen monitors and whiteboards, ideal for both individual and group work. Desktop computers are readily available, along with scanning and printing services. Students can also check out laptops and headsets for added flexibility.
The library offers a 24/7 hybrid study space known as the Bear Cave. This dedicated area provides access to desktop computers, a printer, and laptop charging stations, and requires a valid student ID for entry. Additionally, classrooms and lecture halls within the library are used for university courses, library instruction, and special events. For added convenience, both the Writing Center and Information Technology Services (ITS) are located on the lower level.
The library provides access to a wide range of print and electronic resources, including databases, e-books, and academic journals, all accessible through its online portal. Reference services are available both in person and virtually, whether through drop-in visits or scheduled appointments. Librarians offer instruction sessions and research consultations to help students develop a nuanced understanding of information use. Beyond traditional research skills, students are encouraged to engage in the reflective and responsible use and creation of information.
By supporting academic exploration and fostering information literacy, Clark Memorial Library plays a vital role in helping students succeed in their academic journeys and beyond.
