EDVI 6206 - The Expanded Core Curriculum & Literacy

Course content will focus on literacy and the expanded core curriculum in the education of the child with visual impairments, and supporting students with visual impairments to transition successfully at all educational levels. Attention will be paid to the importance of the expanded core curriculum and literacy for students with visual impairments and aligning the ECC to the common core.  Building the collaboration skills to work with the O&M specialist and other related service professionals (i.e., OT and PT) will be a focus of the course, as will the critical role of these professionals in the education of the child with visual impairments.

Field hour requirement: a minimum of 25 hours.
