BSHS 1103 - Behavioral Health Paraprofessional Internship

This course provides behavioral health paraprofessional instruction through supervised placement while completing 60 on-site clock hours. Particular attention is given to the development of chemical dependency assessment, Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist, and Peer Recovery skills under supervision through an on-site placement in a professional clinical setting. Requires 60 hours of on-site service or support. Students receive one hour per week of individual supervision in the clinical setting, and 2.6 hours per week of group supervision provided by program faculty.

Note: Distance Learning Approved. All internships must have prior approval of the Academic or Project Coordinator.

Prereq: BSHS 1101 and BSHS 1102 with a minimum grade of C in each course.
