BSNR 4430 - Health Care Planning and Policy

This course explores the nurse’s role in health care policy and planning and information systems. There is an overview of issues in health care policy and planning, including the socio-political and economic context of health and health-seeking behaviors. Health care policy and planning at the local, state, and federal levels are examined. Ethical dimensions of public policy formulations implementations are highlighted. The application of computer technology in health care and nursing is explored. Prereq: BSNR 3301, or Admission to RN-BSN program, or non-degree students with instructor permission.
