HIST 4420 - Middle East in Modern Times

An examination of recent conflicts and turmoil in the Middle East through the following sequence: concise overview of Middle East history, relationships between today’s turmoil and the development of nationalism and emergence of nation-states, specific conflicts like the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, Arab-Israeli conflict, and the Gulf War. Prereq: ENGL 1105 and HIST 2540 General Education Program Course GEP (WI)
